Raw Wedding Photography partners with Oddfellows, Chester

2012? Bring it on. Just had to tell you that Oddfellows in Chester loved our photos of Sarah and David http://www.raw-weddingphotography.co.uk/blog/sarahdavid-wedding-oddfellows-chester so much that we gave them a lovely leather sample album all for themselves (in exchange for few good recommendations, of course).  We’re always attracted to the unconventional and that’s why we love working at Oddfellows;  it’s so quirky and anything but run of the mill.

They’re just creating a new website at the mo and some of our images will be featured, so we’re dead excited!!     http://www.oddfellows.biz/

Can’t wait to for the next shoot guys! Kx

Liz + Gavin | Wedding | Hoghton Tower, Preston

It was the first time we’d been to Hoghton Tower www.hoghtontower.co.uk when we shot Liz and Gavin’s wedding recently and on our first approach the we were blown away by the length driveway.  It must have been about a mile long.  Apparently it’s been used in loads of films and tv such as Dr Who and Moll Flanders.  Over the last couple of years we’d already shot two weddings for Liz’s siblings, and they’d established a pattern of choosing really spectacular castles.  So we were over the moon when Liz approached us to shoot hers at Hoghton Tower.  The weather wasn’t great, but they were pretty much up for trying anything as the location had so much to offer, but typically of us we didn’t go for the obvious type of images.  Here’s a few to wet your appetite of you’re thinking of castle wedding soon!!  K

John Bishop Before He Was Famous

After seeing John Bishop on TV other night I remembered shooting a buiness award gig in Liverpool in 2008 when he was unknown, just before he hit the big time.  Anyway dug these out of the archives to share with you.  He took the piss out of me while I snapped him from the front, I think it was along the lines of looking like a big issue seller that had done well and bought a camera (actually that was quite funny).  I have long hair and was unshaven that night – so I was an easy target!  (but of course all homeless people look like this?!)

Although he’s not really my cup of tea, we do need more scouse comedians, as I can’t recall much since Alexis Sayle. Or would Paul O’Grady/Lilley Savage count?  Or Peter Serafinowicz ?  Anyway, good luck to him. K x

Thanks Kelly at Boho Weddings and Events in Sheffield for featuring us on her blog again. Second time this year (we must be doing something right!)  Kelly wanted to  feature a very stylish and laid back wedding we shot for Michaela and Ian at the Isla Gladstone Conservatory in Liverpool this year, so check it out the post here http://blog.bohoweddingsandevents.com/2011/09/12/real-weddings-alexander-mcqueen-and-vivienne-westwood-for-a-relaxed-laid-back-sunshine-wedding/  K. x

Michaela + Ian | Wedding | Isla Gladstone, Liverpool

Silver shoes and sharp tailored suit, Ian is a man after my own style.   His bride Michaela looked fabulous in her vintage inspired 1950’s dress and concealed gold Alexander McQueen boots! The oasis backdrop of the Isla Gladstone Conservatory  http://www.theislagladstone.co.uk/ was real eye candy (the weather helped too – love those blue skies!).  Rock and roll couple Michaela and drummer Ian met at Glasto in ’08 when she was there with her brother, while Ian was there with a mutual friend called ‘Woody’.  The couple were immediately attracted and poor old woody spent the rest of festival alone.  Mate’s eh?  Seriously, these guys are awesome and we wish them a happy life together. K x

Michaela + Ian | e-shoot | Crosby Beach, Liverpool

Crosby Beach with the Anthony Gormley Statues was the backdrop for Ian and Michaela’s e-shoot.  We did a little bonding before the wedding with some ice cream and sodas, and had a blast.  Had to exercise some care dodging the stranded jelly fish though.  We love the Gormley’s, and we love this couple.  Can’t wait for their wedding, next week. K x

Sarah+David | Wedding | Oddfellows, Chester

These guys rock, and the moment we met them we knew we were on the same wavelength.  Sarah and David met in 2007 through friends at Kings of Leon aftershow party.  They say they  don’t remember much after that!  Fast forward, and it was in little restaurant in beautiful Barcelona that David proposed (after acting weird beforehand, laughs Sarah).  They brought bags of style to their big day and went for a lovely intimate church wedding and then had the reception at the very cool and eclectic Oddfellows in Chester.  Love it.  Check out this very lovely couple…
